A prompt is a single message you retype each time. A skill is installed once and gives the agent a consistent framework, guardrails, and output format it applies automatically, so results stay consistent across people, projects, and sessions.

A skill is a single repeatable job (like auditing a page for SEO or checking a draft against your editorial guidelines), while a workflow is the sequence that strings several jobs together. A workflow can call one or more skills along the way.
