What does a Search Content Strategist do?

A Search Content Strategist connects buyer questions, product knowledge, SEO/AEO, and content systems. My job is to decide what is worth creating, what context belongs in it, and how each page or article earns trust across Google, AI search, and the buyer journey.

Where do most people start?

An AI Visibility Audit. I find where you're not cited, who AI recommends instead, and which buyer queries your content misses. Then I turn the gaps into a prioritized action list and walk you through the findings. If we keep building, the fee rolls into your first month.

Is AI search worth planning for now?

Yes, because buyers are already using it to compare options, shortlist vendors, and pressure-test claims. The goal is not to chase every new acronym. It is to make sure your product knowledge, proof, and buyer answers are clear enough to be trusted, cited, and recommended wherever the search happens.

How do you measure AI citations?

I start with the questions buyers would actually ask, then test variations across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and Google AI Overviews. I look at whether you appear, who appears instead, what sources are cited, and which claims or content gaps explain the difference. Citation tools help, but the query map matters first.

Why you and not an in-house hire?

With me, you get senior search content strategy without adding a full-time role. Useful when you need judgment and execution now, not another hire to ramp for three months.

Do you write, or only do strategy?

Both. I can map a strategy, write or refresh the content, and also set up content workflows.

Do you work with agencies?

Yes. I work well inside client-facing and non-client-facing agency systems. I bring senior strategy and execution support without making your team manage another moving part.

How do you work, and what do you need from us?

For retainers, I work async-first inside your tools and keep the content system close to the team. For one-off projects, you get the deliverable and a handoff call. Either way, I need access to the inputs that make the content credible: product context, analytics, sales or customer insight, existing content, and the people who know the product best.
